Also, while the Mac hack took 2 minutes to complete, don't go thinking that these guys sat down and 2 minutes later had crafted a new hack from scratch. When Apple updated High Sierra to version 10.13.4 many Mac users started seeing a warning that indicated that the app wasn’t optimised and that the developer needed to update it to improve.

Hi:
I'm currently in the mac world & trying to get my brother to buy in. But when he sees articles like:

'the mac went down in 2 minutes...'
it's tough.
Question: how serious is it that evidently mac os appears to be so hackable?
Every online computer it 'hackable' Only a fool would ask for his computer to hacked on purpose unless, as in this case, it was a test. Was the firewall turned on? Was the computer behind a secure router? Of course not. Anyone who puts their computer directly online is asking for problems. Nobody does that unless they look for trouble. Or are running a contest.
If you fear this, stick with an old typewriter and lose the internet. Don't even use an iPhone.
So far, they have not hacked any of my computers, not even my PCs. My aluminum hat is obviously working 🙂
People can always find an excuse or rationale for not doing something they don't want to do in the first place.
